Knit With Love Blanket
It’s become a bit of a tradition to make a sampler blanket each fall season, and this is my contribution this year! You’ll find easy yet beautiful stitch patterns, with some that you may have never tried in the past. This is a blanket journey of knit stitches.
Scroll down for the full, free pattern, or you may choose to purchase the ad-free, printable version from Etsy HERE or the kit from Lion Brand HERE.
I named it “knit with love” as I think that each texture is knit with such intention and care that it really is a show of love for the recipient. Even if the recipient is yourself!
For this beautiful pattern, you’ll need chunky yarn and large needles. As long as you are comfortable with basic stitches and counting some stitches, you can make this blanket.
I’ve really become a fan of chunky #5 weight yarn, like the one in this pattern. It’s not too chunky and not too light. Ha! Goldilocks in knitting!

This throw is super cool because rather than just being striped, it’s actually a mirror image on each half. There is also a new stitch for us to try – the wandering eyelets or “staggered eyelets”.
The eyelets really have a gorgeous look, and give the blanket a little understated texture – almost like falling leaves.
So with all the love in this blanket, and all the texture, let’s hop to the pattern!
Just a reminder that you can grab the advertisement-free printable PDF version from my Etsy shop HERE, or see the freebie below!
This gorgeous throw features a combination of some of the most beloved textures from Mama In A Stitch blankets, but also shows off new stitches and intricacies. Perfect for gifting, it’s clearly made with love and attention as you work the various textures.
The staggered eyelets have almost a botanical look, while the other sections are varied and full of interest! This is a special fall and winter blanket that is easy enough for newer knitters, but offers enough challenge to keep you interested. Create this beautiful blanket in any color “with love”, and enjoy!
Materials:
7 skeins of Lion Brand Yarn Hue + Me Chunky #5 yarn in Desert 137 yds/skein 125 g/skein Pattern uses approximately 800 grams Convenient kit HERE
US Size 15 (10 mm), 36” or longer, circular knitting needles (blanket is knit flat)
Scissors
Stitch markers (optional)
Tapestry needle to weave in ends
Size (approximate): One size: Small Throw/Lapghan 51” X 36” (51” is the cast on edge)
Size Adjustments: An easy way to make your blanket larger and adjust the length would be to repeat the seed stitch pattern evenly on each side of the blanket. Keep yarn needs in mind. If you’d like to adjust the length of the cast on edge, cast on a multiple of 4 stitches, then add 3 extra – to finish add another 20 stitches for the 10 stitch borders on each side.
Gauge: Approximately 9 stitches and 15 rows in 4” x 4” of seed stitch pattern
Pattern Notes: This blanket is made with a garter stitch border and features 4 different, simple stitch patterns. The stitch patterns are listed below. Follow the pattern instructions on the next page while working the stitch patterns in the indicated order. The blanket creates a mirrored image as you work across with the center being the stockinette stitch section.
Consider practicing each of the stitches on a small practice swatch before beginning the blanket. Simply omit the 10 stitch border on each side within the patterns listed below, and cast on using the multiple provided in itallics. Once you know that you can work the stitches, move onto the blanket! Have fun!
