Color Echoes Blanket Crochet Pattern
This vibrant blanket is SUPER eye catching and it’s a breeze to make with my favorite color changing yarn! If you love solid granny square patterns (and NO color changes), definitely check this project out.
See the free pattern below, or you may choose to purchase the ad-free, printable pattern from Etsy HERE or the kit from Lion Brand HERE.
If you follow my site, you’re probably not surprised to see some more bright color. Lol! For years I was a “neutrals only” girl, but have really started to have fun seeing what we can do with colorful yarns.
Neutrals are certainly a classic that I will always love, but using color has made the art of knitting and crochet more fun for me. Do you like using color?
The Mountain Throw crochet pattern has been super duper popular, and it uses the same Ferris Wheel yarn that I’m using with today’s “Color Echoes” Blanket pattern.
You can use the colors that I used, or customize it to your own tastes! Wouldn’t it be pretty in all blues? Or even pinks and violets? There is something for everyone with this blanket.
You guys, this blanket is so easy. It is made with a basic solid granny square pattern. Once you get going, it’s so meditative and fun to see the colors emerge.
It’s also a great project for spring and summer because you can just take a square or two with you in your purse or beach bag. It’s a really great portable project.
I seamed this baby with a simple whip stitch. In some of my past blankets (like the Harvest Flower Blanket), I used a flat slip stitch seam. The flat slip stitch is a gorgeous seam, but does take more time. However, this whip stitch is SO fast. If you don’t love seaming, this is a good option for ya!
Let’s hop to this pattern!

Assembly
Assemble the squares as pictured or in any order you’d like. With your tapestry needle and a length of yarn, use a simple whip stitch seam to join the squares together.
Border
Use Pink Marmalade, or your preferred color for the border. The border is crocheted by working one round of half double crochet stitches followed by a second round of half double crochet stitches worked through the back loop only. Make three half double crochet stitches in each of the four corners. Consider using a smaller hook if needed to avoid a wavy border. Feel free to customize the border by making it wider or by using another stitch pattern.
Block to shape and size as desired.
That’s it!
