It’s been so cool over the last couple of years to step out of my usual, neutral palette into some bright and bold colors.

Such an eye catcher over on that chair.

Between the Rolling Hills Throw, the knit Woven Throw, Sundance Crochet Blanket, playing with colorful yarns has become almost a challenge for me. How can I put a bunch of amazing colors together in a way that’s pretty? AND, how can we do this without the ever annoying color changes. Ha!

This blanket comes together so easily with this meditative stitch and wonderfully soft yarn. As with the rest of the stripey, colorful blankets, it’s really fun to see the different colors as you go. It helps me to not get bored, which DOES happen on bigger projects.

It’s been so fun to play with color. Do you like colorful blankets?

What Yarn Do I Use For The Mountain Throw?

To get the variety of color in this blanket, I went with Lion Brand Ferris Wheel and used a few colorways! It’s a light weight yarn, so it creates a light fabric.

As I mentioned earlier, there are no color changes because of the yarn. You simply work through each skein until it runs out. The color changing yarn does all the hard work for you!

What Stitch is Used For this Colorful Blanket?

Isn’t this the coolest stitch pattern? This is the granny spike stitch, and you can find several tutorials by doing a simple search on YouTube for this stitch. I love it because it create a non-holey fabric, which I love for blankets. It is definitely a yarn eater though! So be prepared with enough yarn. 🙂

Alright, let’s get to this pattern!
