Flower Granny Square Crochet Pattern
Today I wanted to share a tutorial of this quick and easy flower granny square crochet pattern. I have used this very square in several patterns, so it was high time for me to make a video and picture tutorial!
This square is so simple, and you can easily change the size of it by simply changing your yarn and hook size. If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I find this to be the easiest and quickest flower granny square out there.
You’ll whip out this square with just four rounds of crochet. All you need is a basic knowledge of the simplest crochet stitches.

I’ve used this square pattern for my Meadow Flowers Blanket, Sunny Blooms, and Harvest Flower Throw! If you’re making any of these blankets, simply follow the tutorial below. You’ll love how easily it works up.
What Yarn Do I Use To Make the Flower Granny Square?
This will depend on what you’d like to make!
For my Harvest Flower Blanket, I used a chunky #5 yarn. It’s a great choice for a warm blanket. You can also go with a super bulky #6, all the way down to a light #3. It’s totally up to you! Just be sure to use the hook size that the pattern (or yarn label) calls for as well.
If you want to bust out a super duper quick blanket, make your squares with an N hook and super bulky yarn. The big square will turn out 9″ x 9″ in just the four rounds. It’s awesome!
These squares also make for a great stash buster. Can you imagine all the pretty flowers you could get with the yarn you have on hand? Make a bag, purse, scarf…the list goes on. Fun!
Let’s get started!
You can see the step-by-step video tutorial, or you may check out the pattern as well.
