While I was crocheting on my back patio as my daughter played today, I had this strange realization of how truly grateful I am for this hobby. 💫 It just hit me like - whoa, this little ol’ hobby has been a constant through this strange summer. It’s provided joy, a sense of accomplishment (when there otherwise would be none)😂, and peace. 🧶 Thank you, yarn and hook! 😆☀️ I think a lot of us have realized how nice it is to have this creative outlet during this time, right? 💕And see those I cords in the background? Give us all the stitches, right? 🙌 I’m super excited because I just got a package from Rachel @evelynandpeter with the Traveling Knit Afghan! 🧶 (see my stories) I’m currently finishing up my square to add to the blanket! It’s definitely the 👸 queen of stitch samplers. ☝️ Is there a knit version?! 🤔 This is a question that I get quite a lot, so wanted to talk about it for a mo.❤️ (And by the way, yep, this is knit bag pattern from my blog 😉) ⁣ ⁣ It’s pretty common to be asked to make a knit version (or a crochet version) of the patterns that I make. And I know this is common for other designers and bloggers as well. 🧶Let me say - I actually love when you ask this question! ❤️ It means you like the project enough to want to make it. That’s the best compliment I can receive. ⁣I’m going to venture to say this is true for my fellow bloggers as well! 💕 ⁣ The reality is though - I ain’t a machine! 🤣 Jokes aside - I want to make a knit and crocheted version of everything. When I started my blog, it was rare to find other blogs that did both hobbies. 🧶They were mostly knit or mostly crochet. I often thought that it might be better to blog about just one - but I’ve always loved both for different reasons. 🙌 If it makes sense and I can work both versions into my to-do list, I happily will! If not, you can know it’s simply because of time, life, child, home 🏡 , bunny 🐰 , constraints and other yarny projects. 🤣 I recently received quite the angry email that my recent cardigan wasn’t knit.😱 But I know that this isn’t the norm. I also had several kind requests to make a knit version - which I love! ❤️ I’ll always listen and take your requests to heart. ❤️ ⁣So please, do let me know when you want a project in another version. Woven, knit, knotted - tell me what you want. 😆 ⁣ I hope this little speech makes some sense, but I felt the need to do a little explaining for myself and the other designers who might be in the same 🚣‍♀️ boat.
